Tech Etch in Plymouth, MA, is seeking an inspector to verify part quality through visual inspection, dimensional verification, and electrical testing against documented criteria. The role includes removing parts from sheets, packaging for shipment, and recording lot information accurately.

The candidate will inspect with a microscope, measure thickness with micrometers, and use electrical test gear to ensure circuit continuity and isolation.

Description

Summary/Objective

This position verifies the quality of parts by visual inspection, dimensional verification and / or electrical testing to documented criteria, removes parts from the sheet, and packages parts for shipment.

Essential Functions

• Read and follow instructions on a traveler and other company documentation to correctly complete required tasks.
• Correctly fill out company documentation to accurately record manufacturing lot information, measurements, etc.
• Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques to correctly process parts.
• Inspect parts using a microscope to determine conformance with company and customer inspection criteria.
• Remove parts from a sheet using scissors or clippers depending on the part.
• Use drop gauges and hand held micrometers to measure material thickness.
• Uses various electrical test equipment to verify the circuit’s continuity and isolation.
• Understand the different sections of a flex circuit and the fundamentals of how a circuit works.
• Identify and make recommendations for inspection improvement opportunities to help lower part costs and make parts quicker to process through the inspection department and the plant.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. First shift days and hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30 pm and second shift hours are 3:30 pm to midnight. Occasional overtime as deemed by management and production needs. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or GED. Preferred Education and Experience
• Basic understanding of electrical circuitry.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $17.50-$25.00/hour

This is the full salary range for the position. Most new hires can expect to start around $17.50/hour.

Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
