Job summary

AutoZone in Providence Forge, VA seeks a Distribution Center Transportation Operations Manager to lead private fleet and common carrier services for one or more AutoZone Distribution Centers, ensuring on-time performance, budget compliance, and safety.

You will oversee transportation personnel, driver safety, maintenance, fuel, systems, reporting, and carrier management, driving continuous improvement and compliant operations across DOT regulations.

Qualifications

Five to seven years of experience in transportation, logistics, or business management.

Responsibilities

Scheduling & Logistics: Develop and maintain optimized transportation schedules, ensuring on-time performance, cost efficiency, and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Carrier Management: Oversee external carrier relationships, including bids, line hauls, storage, and return logistics.
Budget Oversight: Plan and meet budget guidelines while managing vendor relationships and cross-docking activities.
Operations & Compliance: Ensure adherence to transportation processes such as Daily Vehicle Condition Reports, seal programs, international logistics, and warranty recovery.
Project Management: Execute special projects assigned by the Regional Transportation Manager, preparing reports and monitoring activities as required.
