Job summary

PepsiCo in Dayville, CT is seeking a night-shift Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our multi-manufacturer dry trailers. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and work with experienced mechanics on complex repairs.

You will handle brakes, bearings, tires, hydraulics, suspension, electrical work, and basic welding. Inventory and vendor coordination are also part of the role, supporting reliable, on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: You are at least 18 years of age or older.
• You may be required to work on weekends, holidays as well as off shift.
• You have a valid No Driving Requirement.
• Your driver's license has not been suspended or revoked in connection with a moving violation within the past three (3) years.
• You can lift 50 pounds or more with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• You are able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• You have the ability to work in tight spaces for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• You will be required to work on/under trucks for an entire shift (8 to 12 hours) with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fleet vehicles (dry storage trailers of multiple manufactures in our fleet), including diagnosing mechanical issues and completing preventative maintenance.
• Work alongside experienced mechanics on more complex repairs and troubleshooting.
• Perform demand work on, but not limited to: brakes, bearings, tire replacements, hydraulic pumps and hoses, suspension components, electrical and basic welding, cutting and fabrication.
• Manage parts inventory and accurately charge parts and labor to work orders using provided systems.
• Build relationships with vendors when obtaining estimates for parts or outside labor.
