Job summary

G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Technician I in Lexington, KY to maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with company standards and DOT regulations.

You will perform preventative maintenance, operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), order parts, keep records, and support internal customers while upholding safety and attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred vocational/technical or associate degree in diesel mechanics.
• 1 year of experience with medium to heavy duty trucks.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance repairs on equipment.
• Operates Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
• Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures and wears all required personal protective equipment.
• Complies with all safety and DOT regulations.
• Communicates with co-workers , internal customers , and supervisors.
• Transports equipment to outside maintenance shops for repair work not completed in-house.
• Orders parts and maintains parts inventory.
• Maintains cleanliness and assists in the organization of the fleet garage.
• Completes Federal annual inspection reports, preventative maintenance records, service repair order forms, time-off requests and other required paperwork according to established standards.
• Works assigned schedule and exhibits regular attendance.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Position Summary

To serve our internal customers by maintaining and repairing the company's fleet of vehicles according to established company standards and federal law to ensure the safety, reliability, and functionality of the fleet.

Essential Functions

• Performs preventative maintenance repairs on equipment .
• Operates Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) .
• Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures and wears all required personal protective equipment.
• Complies with all safety and DOT regulations.
• Communicates with co-workers , internal customers , and supervisor s.
• Transports equipment to outside maintenance shops for repair work not completed in-house.

Education Level

Certificates & Licenses

• Valid Driver's License; Employee must be insurable to operate a vehicle, as a condition of initial and continued employment.

Additional Requirements

Basic understanding of diagnostic software. Must be able to work around fumes, airborne particles, and toxic/caustic materials. Must be able to work around moving equipment ( e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks) and in a loud noise environment.
