Shield AI is seeking a Field Integration Specialist to join the Field Integration and Test team in Frisco, TX. You will perform site surveys, install and configure systems, and ensure high fleet readiness for deployed assets.

You will troubleshoot field issues, maintain configuration records, and train customers while coordinating with engineering, operations, and logistics teams. This on-site role requires travel up to 50% and a Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Job Description:

As a Field Integration Specialist, you'll be part of the Field Integration and Test team. Your main duties are site surveys and field installation : checking deployment locations and installing systems in the field. You'll also handle technical readiness, troubleshooting, sustainment and integration support for deployed systems. You'll work alongside Field Integration Engineers, who lead integration efforts, and Air Vehicle Operators, who run missions. You carry out the technical work on each deployment and keep it going day to day. Your main goal is high fleet readiness and uptime for the current deployment.

What you'll do:

Primary duties

• Site surveys: Assess deployment locations before installation. Check site conditions, infrastructure, power, communications, and physical and environmental limits. Record your findings to support integration planning.
• Field installation: Install, set up and configure systems at customer sites. Make sure each installation meets technical and operational requirements before handover.

Additional Responsibilities

• System configuration and validation: Configure and validate deployed systems, including new capabilities before they go into operational use.
• Field troubleshooting: Be the main troubleshooter in the field. Diagnose and fix hardware, software and subsystem issues quickly to keep operations moving.
• Maintenance and sustainment: Own parts readiness, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and fleet sustainment.
• Field modifications: Carry out approved changes to fielded hardware and systems.
• Configuration management: Keep accurate configuration records for all deployed assets.
• Technical decisions: Make field-level technical decisions, with input from the Field Integration Engineer.
• Integration support: Support integration planning and help with execution tasks. Contribute to long-term fixes and root cause analysis by collecting field data and reporting findings.
• Customer support and training: Give customers technical support and hands-on training on system setup, operation and upkeep.
• Cross-team coordination: Work closely with engineering, operations, logistics and customer teams to fix issues and keep deployments ready.

Physical requirements

• The job generally requires lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching and carrying.

• Up to 50% travel

Required Qualifications

• One of the following:

• A high school diploma or equivalency certificate with a STEM focus, plus 5+ years of experience as a Telecommunications Technician, Field Engineering Specialist or in an engineering role

• A bachelor's degree in an engineering or technology field
• 2+ years of experience working with electrical and radio-frequency (RF) systems
• Hands-on experience with site surveys and field installation of technical systems
• Deep expertise in communications systems, including installing, integrating and testing radios, datalinks, antennas and network equipment in the field
• A proven, hands-on record troubleshooting complex technical systems in field or operational settings
• Experience with maintenance, sustainment and configuration management
• The ability to make sound technical decisions under time pressure in austere environments
• Clear communication, including training customers and working across teams
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in electrical and RF environments, including power distribution, cabling, grounding, antennas, RF equipment and electromechanical systems

$95,000 - $145,000 a year
