JOB SUMMARY

The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, safety, and compliance of Hope Christian Health Center's fleet vehicles, including mobile outreach units and transportation vehicles. This position supervises drivers, coordinates fleet operations, ensures vehicle readiness, manages maintenance and regulatory compliance activities, and supports the efficient delivery of healthcare services through HCHC's mobile outreach programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises Mobile Outreach Drivers and transportation personnel.
  • Coordinates driver schedules and transportation coverage to support operational needs.
  • Provides onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing support to drivers.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and addresses performance concerns as appropriate.
  • Assists with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of transportation staff.
  • Ensures staff compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and transportation procedures.
  • Serves as a substitute driver when operational needs require coverage.

Fleet Management & Maintenance Duties:

  • Oversees all HCHC fleet vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, registrations, and operational readiness.
  • Develops and implements preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize vehicle lifespan.
  • Coordinates routine inspections, maintenance services, and repair activities.
  • Performs or oversees routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, generator maintenance, tire inspections, fluid checks, battery inspections, and general vehicle condition assessments.
  • Oversees maintenance of mobile outreach unit water systems, including replenishment of fresh water supplies and disposal of grey and black water in accordance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Maintains inventory of fleet-related equipment, maintenance supplies, fuel cards, and operational resources.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors, repair facilities, fuel providers, and service contractors to ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective services.
  • Ensures vehicles are clean, stocked, safe, and ready for deployment.
Fleet Operations & Compliance
  • Collaborates with the Outreach Program Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services supporting mobile healthcare operations.
  • Coordinates route planning and transportation logistics to maximize efficiency and minimize service disruptions.
  • Maintains fleet records including mileage, fuel usage, maintenance history, inspections, registrations, insurance documentation, and operating expenses.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, organizational, and vehicle safety requirements.
  • Maintains driver qualification records and monitors driving record requirements.
  • Responds to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and operational emergencies and coordinates repairs or corrective actions.
  • Investigates vehicle incidents and accidents and completes required reporting and documentation.
  • Coordinates insurance claims and repair activities resulting from vehicle accidents or damage.
Reporting & Budget Monitoring
  • Monitors vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, repair costs, and fleet performance indicators.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase fleet reliability.
  • Prepares reports related to fleet utilization, maintenance activities, safety performance, and operational expenses.
  • Assists with vehicle replacement planning and recommendations for future fleet needs.
  • Monitors fleet readiness and proactively implements solutions to maintain uninterrupted operations.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and safeguard patient information.
  • The Fleet Supervisor ensures compliance with all 19 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program Requirements.
  • The Fleet Supervisor is also expected to actively participate in and support quality improvement activities and the clinical practice team efforts emphasizing the importance of the individual patient and putting the patient’s needs first.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in fleet operations, transportation, logistics, vehicle maintenance, or a related field - preferred
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, fleet operations, and safety practices - required
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License with an acceptable driving record - required
  • Minimum three (3) years of clean driving history - required
  • Ability to safely operate large passenger vehicles and mobile clinic units – preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire - required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams - required
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills - required
Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. – required

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The Fleet Supervisor performs work in both indoor and outdoor environments and may be exposed to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

This role requires routine vehicle inspections, operation of fleet vehicles, prolonged periods of driving, and occasional work in confined spaces around vehicles and equipment. Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and the ability to safely operate fleet vehicles are essential functions of this position.
