Job summary

okgov in Oklahoma seeks a Fleet Specialist I-II for the District 1 - Fleet in the Muskogee/Sallisaw area. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on state vehicles and heavy equipment, and operate diagnostic tools and computer software.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/technical work involving repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.

• Welding and fabrication as part of repairs.
• Supervise repair facility operations and training as needed.

Basic Purpose

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving mechanical/technical work in the repair and maintenance of automobile, truck, boat, heavy equipment, or other engines or motors and related assemblies or in the supervision/management of a fleet maintenance or repair facility.

Typical Functions

• Perform major and minor preventative maintenance service on state vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic problems
• operate diagnostic tools and computer software
• weld and fabricate.

• Complete paperwork and assist in writing specifications

• Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical personnel which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis while performing roadside assistance, towing needs, and rollback services.
