The City of Gastonia invites applications for a position that performs difficult administration and skilled technical work supervising the servicing and maintenance of a variety of automotive and heavy construction equipment. The role reports major activities through periodic meetings and works with limited supervision.
Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s degree or vocational training, ten years of related maintenance experience, and a valid Class B CDL.
The purpose of this position is to perform difficult administration and skilled technical work supervising the servicing and maintenance of a variety of automotive and heavy construction equipment.
This job works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Ten years of automotive or heavy equipment maintenance and repair or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Unavoidable hazards refer to job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
