Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the design, standing up, and scaling of centralized fleet-wide operations across multiple sites.

You will standardize operating systems, integrate acquisitions, and partner with departments to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations that scale with growth. You will build performance cadences, develop Plant Manager leadership, and create integration playbooks for rapid onboarding of future sites, while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent; experience substituted year-for-year acceptable.
• 10+ years in power generation operations and maintenance with multi-site leadership.
• 3+ years as Plant Manager or equivalent with accountability for safety, availability, budget, and compliance.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong analytical and business-case skills; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence across functions.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence: safety, reliability, availability, efficiency, and cost competitiveness.
• Collaborate with Asset Management and Finance to translate operational drivers into production economics.
• Develop fleet metrics, dashboards, definitions, and problem-solving routines.
• Lead annual and multi-year planning cycles including budgets and capital plans.
• Develop and execute vendor/contract strategy to optimize cost and performance.
• Identify operational risks and drive corrective actions across safety, environment, reliability, cyber/OT, and supply chain.
• Support M&A due diligence, integration planning, and stand-up of new sites.
• Enable multi-technology execution and adapt operating models to new tech and projects.
• Build a high-performance culture; coach Plant Managers and develop bench strength.
• Collaborate with Environmental, HSE, HR, Engineering, Development, and IT/OT to align goals.
