Job summary

Knife River Northwest in Beaverton, OR is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to maintain and repair Class 8 trucks and trailers during a night shift. You will handle hydraulic work, brakes, electrical repairs, and welding, with some field service.

You must own basic hand tools; Knife River provides job-specific large tooling and has a replacement policy. Accountability for safety, paperwork, and professionalism is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Welding and fabrication experience desirable.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Professional attitude toward team members.

• Complete all required paperwork.
• Must have own basic hand tools; Knife River provides job‑specific large tooling and has a replacement policy.
• Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Hours: 9:00 pm – 6:00 am (later start/finish time available). Sunday–Thursday or Monday–Friday available.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Welding and fabrication experience desirable.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam, and drug screen.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude toward all team members.
