Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel-powered mixer trucks and heavy equipment. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and ensure safety and reliability across our fleet.

This role involves collaborating with the operations team to minimize downtime, keeping accurate service records, and staying current with diesel technology.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts to support fleet operations.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply with on-the-job training.
• Experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician is a plus.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and learn new technologies.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Rebuild, replace, or repair major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in the workshop and on job sites.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work using company systems.
• Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques through ongoing learning.
