Job summary

Menards Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Fleet Mechanic to maintain Menard-owned equipment and vehicles, including light to heavy-duty trucks, trailers and forklifts. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance to meet DOT standards and ensure fleet readiness.

The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting and welding skills, with independence and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Benefits include health and dental insurance, 401(k), employee discounts, and PTO.

Qualifications

  • Must have some direct mechanical experience or an accredited Technician Degree.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to locate and resolve problems in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficient welding and maintenance experience.
  • Must be able to take direction from management and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect fleet equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary repair
  • Repair, replace, and adjust necessary units and related parts
  • Perform maintenance work to DOT standard for over the road equipment
  • Perform general overhaul and repair work on gasoline, diesel, propane, and battery powered engines/equipment
  • General repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units
  • Perform preventive maintenance work on vehicles including lubrication, oil changes, and annual inspections
  • Clean and maintain the work area and equipment
  • Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed
