Job description

Join Our Team as a Fleet Mechanic at US Foods

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to handle troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of our fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, thermo-king units, converter dollies, and maintenance vehicles. The role requires ensuring compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations, maintaining accurate documentation and maintenance logs, and performing road rescue as needed.

Position Details
  • Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM
  • Pay: $31.14/hour DOE
Responsibilities
  1. Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace diesel equipment components.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards.
  3. Document all repair work, maintenance, and parts used.
  4. Handle road service calls and perform road rescue operations.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, comply with safety regulations.
  6. Manage inventory and recordkeeping accurately.
  7. Support other maintenance personnel as needed.
  8. Willingness to assume additional responsibilities and obtain certifications.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel or reefer mechanic, or 3 years with relevant certifications.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Own personal hand tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to read technical manuals.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and overtime.
Physical Requirements

This role involves physical activity, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, manipulating, and twisting, with specific weight and frequency requirements.
