Job summary

MLC, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., is hiring a Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy-duty tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure safe operations and DOT compliance. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), tuition reimbursement, paid vacation and holidays, health savings, disability coverage, and incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical maintenance and repair experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to provide and maintain personal mechanic tools required for the position.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work overtime, varying shifts, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment.
• Complete and document DOT inspections, repair orders, and maintenance records accurately.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems on fleet equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform after-hours or emergency repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Work closely with supervisors, dispatchers, and team members to support operational efficiency.
• Assist with inventory management of parts and maintenance supplies.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while working in a fast-paced environment.
