Job summary

Clarke Vehicare is seeking a Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician to maintain and repair automotive and diesel vehicles for our fleet. The role requires 3 years of related experience in Class 8, medium duty, trailer repair, or light-duty autos and trucks, with a preferred Diesel Program Certificate.

Qualifications

• 3 years related experience in Class 8, medium duty, trailer repair, or light-duty auto and truck.
• Preferred Diesel Program Certificate from college or technical school.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains customer fleet of automotive and diesel vehicles.
• Service and repair of Class 8, medium duty, trailer repair, and light duty car and truck.
• Perform PMIs on all vehicles, tractors, trailers and other equipment.
• Test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW.
• Record all work orders in Electronic Fleet Maintenance System.
• Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Personal tools required; large tools provided by VEHICARE.

Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician

Up to $40/hour (depending on experience)

Candidates must be local to Oahu, or willing to relocate

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Repairs and maintains Customer Fleet of Automotive and Diesel Vehicles
• Service and Repair of Class 8, medium duty, trailer repair, and light duty car and truck
• Perform PMI's on all vehicles, tractors, trailers and other equipment
• Perform all types of engines, brake, drive train, electrical, and A/C repairs
• Record all work orders in Electronic Fleet Maintenance System
• Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulatory compliance
• Test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW
• Must be able to work independently
• Personal tools required, large and specialty tools will be provided by VEHICARE

PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs with assistance.
• Associate must be able to read and write reports.
• Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• 3 years related Experience in any of the following areas: Class 8, medium duty, trailer repair, or light duty AUTO and Truck
• Preferred Diesel Program Certificate from college or technical school

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must have a valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record within the last 3 years.
• No drug or alcohol-related conviction on driving record in the past 5 years (ie., DUI/DWI).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
• Current ASE Certifications a plus
• State Safety Inspector License is a plus
