Job summary

Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on medium and heavy duty diesel tractor and trailer equipment in Lenexa, KS. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, servicing, and handling parts in SAP, with safety training emphasized.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least two years' experience, and preferred ASE certification and a CDL Class A license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of work experience required.
• Experience repairing and diagnosing gasoline or diesel engines, automotive electrical systems and material handling equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of airbrake and electrical systems and components preferred.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A Driver's License preferred.
• May be required to supply automotive hand tools.
• Experience with pallet jack or forklift preferred; PIT certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance within fleet department.
• Respond to service calls as required.
• Create work orders in SAP and ensure times and tasks are logged; pull stock parts from inventory.
• Maintain tools and clean up work area before end of shift.
• Participate in and adhere to required safety training.
• Communicate out of service vehicles and downtimes to respective departments.

Days/Hours of Work: Monday - Friday; 2pm - 1030 pm

Job Summary

Fleet Mechanics perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles according to DOT and OSHA regulations, with a specific focus on medium and heavy duty, diesel tractor and trailer maintenance and repair.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance within fleet department.
• Respond to service calls as required.
• Creates work orders in SAP and ensures working times and tasks are logged into computer as well as stock parts pulled from inventory.
• Maintain tools and cleanup work area before end of shift.
• Participate in and adhere to the required safety training.
• Supports departments by communicating out of service vehicles and down times.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of work experience required.
• Previous experience as a mechanic with diesel tractor and trailer equipment preferred.
• Experience repairing and diagnosing gasoline or diesel engines, automotive electrical systems and material handling equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of airbrake and electrical systems and components preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A Driver's License preferred.
• May be required to supply automotive hand tools.
• Prior experience using pallet jack or forklift preferred. Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire is required.

• 0-2 years of experience as a Fleet/Diesel Mechanic - $29.00
• 2-4 years of experience as a Fleet/Diesel Mechanic - $ 31.00
• 4+ years of experience as a Fleet/Diesel Mechanic - $ 34.00
