Fleet Mechanic Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and perform necessary repairs on fleet trucks
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance
- Conduct diagnostic analysis and mechanical repairs on all vehicle systems, including electrical, hydraulic, transmission, air conditioning, heating, fuel, and mechanical systems
- Design and implement minor modifications to existing equipment as directed
- Maintain maintenance and repair records on all trucks
- Utilize technology applicable to the field and/or general operations to accomplish work tasks
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations
Fleet Mechanic Requirements:
- One year of full-time mechanic experience, or current attendance/recent graduation from a technical college
- Certified to complete DOT inspections within 6 months of employment
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license with an excellent driving record
- Possess ASE Certification or become certified within 12 months of employment
- Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Class B Minnesota driver's license within 6 months of appointment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or completion of a technical training program in a mechanically related field
- Experience with diesel and heavy equipment or electronic vehicle systems
- Experience working on heavy-duty trucks
