Qualifications

• 1+ year of full-time mechanic experience or recent technical college graduate.
• Certified to complete DOT inspections within 6 months of employment.

Fleet Mechanic Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and perform necessary repairs on fleet trucks
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance
• Conduct diagnostic analysis and mechanical repairs on all vehicle systems, including electrical, hydraulic, transmission, air conditioning, heating, fuel, and mechanical systems
• Design and implement minor modifications to existing equipment as directed
• Maintain maintenance and repair records on all trucks
• Utilize technology applicable to the field and/or general operations to accomplish work tasks
• Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations

Fleet Mechanic Requirements:

• One year of full-time mechanic experience, or current attendance/recent graduation from a technical college
• Certified to complete DOT inspections within 6 months of employment
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license with an excellent driving record
• Possess ASE Certification or become certified within 12 months of employment
• Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Class B Minnesota driver's license within 6 months of appointment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or completion of a technical training program in a mechanically related field
• Experience with diesel and heavy equipment or electronic vehicle systems
• Experience working on heavy-duty trucks
