Job summary

Centuri seeks a Non-Union Fleet Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, off-road equipment, and small tools. Safety, quality, and customer focus guide daily work, with weekly payroll and a comprehensive Benefits Package.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 5 years of repair experience, a Valid Class A CDL, and be MNDOT qualified. The role requires working outdoors and in potentially extreme conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5 years of work experience preferred in operation, repair, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• General knowledge of construction related equipment and inspection standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair work on vehicles including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair to manufacturer specifications.
• Document mileage/hours, parts, repairs, and orders.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance to maximize safety and life of equipment.
• Operate welding on equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support leadership with miscellaneous duties as needed.

As a Non-Union NPL Fleet Mechanic you will perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, off-road equipment, and small tools in a safe, efficient, quality-minded, and customer focused manner.

What You'll Do

• Perform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency roadside repair
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems
• Follow paper-flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, maintaining all warrenty and core parts, documenting all repairs, and follow parts ordering and billing procedures
• Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit
• Perform maintenance and repair welding on equipment in a safe, efficient, and quality manner
• Other duties as requested by leadership

What You'll Have

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of work experience is preferred in the operation, repair, and maintenance of cars, trucks, off-road equipment, and small tools
• Valid Class A CDL is required
• General knowledge of construction related equipment
• Must be a current MNDOT qualified Inspector
• Strong verbal and written communication; detail-orientated
• General competency in computer systems

Work Environment

• Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
• All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
• Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
• Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
• Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
