Gabriel Group in Honolulu, Hawaii seeks a Fleet Mechanic to repair, inspect and service company vehicles and equipment including trucks and cars. Under supervision of Operations Manager, you will perform preventive maintenance, test drives, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Primary Purpose:
The Fleet Mechanic’s primary purpose, under the supervision of the
Operations Manager, will be to repair, inspect and service all company vehicles and equipment
such as all trucks, cars, equipment as needed.
Essential Functions
• Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles, completing
preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes,
wheel balancing, replacing filters.
• Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting
inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems
malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
• Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion
control standards.
• Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting
breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for
repairs.
• Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventory stock; placing orders; and verifying receipt.
• Back up CDL driver for Roll-Off
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Physical, Mental, and Communication Demands:
Requires frequent lifting of at least 50 lbs.
Requires occasional to frequent bending, squatting, and moving material and supplies on a daily
basis.
Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and able to handle various problems arising on the job.
Requires a willingness to learn and grow with the company to reach advancement goals.
Must follow specific instructions and safety procedures, working to specific routine.
Skills/Knowledge:
In addition to being able to fulfill the physical, mental, and communication
demands listed above, must be able to follow instructions and safety procedures, including safety
rules.
Requirements:
Must have current Hawaii Driver License, Clean Abstract of Traffic Record, CDL Driver’s License.
Experience: Two (2) years auto mechanic experience. Must be dependable, persistent, have
good time management, good attendance, be able to work independently, must be able to
practice safety management, problem solve, deal with complexity, and analyze information
