Job summary

Global Medical Response (GMR) is seeking an entry-level Fleet Manufacturing Technician Associate to join our on-site team in Texas. This full-time role supports body repair, painting, assembly, and upfit projects for ambulance and emergency response vehicles.

You will work under experienced technicians, perform basic bodywork, prepare surfaces, replace parts, and assist in quality checks and safety compliance. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Automotive trade school or related certifications preferred.
• ASE, EVT, AWS, I-CAR certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic bodywork repairs on vehicles, including dent/scratch fixes and structural repairs.
• Assist in painting and refinishing: surface prep, masking, priming and coating applications.
• Assist in vehicle manufacturing, assembly and disassembly tasks on various vehicles, including documentation of processes.

Fleet Manufacturing Technician Associate

Job Summary

This position plays an entry level role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of our customers' vehicles. This role will may be responsible for performing a range of tasks, including vehicle body repairs, painting, structural work, welding, cabinet making, fabrication, upholstery, electrical harnesses assembly, disassembly, and parts installation. This entry-level position requires basic technical skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company.

Vehicle Body Repair

Perform basic bodywork and repair tasks on vehicles, including dent repairs, scratch removal, and major structural repairs.

Ensure all repairs are completed to the highest quality standards, meeting manufacturer and industry specifications.

Painting and Refinishing

Assist in prepare surfaces for priming / painting by cleaning, guide coating, sanding, masking, and applying primers.

Assist in the application of paint and clear coat with precision, ensuring accurately and achieving appropriate finishes.

Vehicle Manufacturing, Assembly and Disassembly

Assist in performing complex assembly and disassembly tasks on a variety of vehicles, including classic cars, modern automobiles, and specialty vehicles.

Disassemble, meticulously documenting the process and organizing parts for repair or restoration.

Parts Replacement and Installation

Perform the removal and replacement of damaged vehicle parts, such as panels, fenders, bumpers, and lights.

Ensure precise alignment and fitment of new parts and guide the team in this process.

Rework

Perform rework to current defects found during Quality Control and other inspections

Parts Storage and Packing

Perform disassembly, identify, tag, pack and store parts in a safe and secure manner to prevent damage or loss. Retrieve parts from storage and re use as needed

Sub-Assemblies

Assemble, and manufacturing of various components including upholstery, vacuum forming, wiring harnesses, switch panels, and various other components.

Refurbishment and Upfit

Assist in the Diagnosis and repair ambulances, support vehicles and other GMR equipment. Assist in perform all types of repairs and parts exchange including engines, transmissions and electrical. Assist ambulance manufacturing at all levels and in all areas.

Assembly and disassembly of vehicles as needed.

Assist in Upfitting vehicles

Quality Assurance

In conjunction with Quality Control Department assist in conducting thorough quality checks and review to ensure that all repairs, refinishing, assembly, and disassembly meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.

Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).

Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.

Comfort working in various weather conditions.

Standing, bending, climbing and reaching for extended periods.

Qualifications
