Job summary

Independence TX LLC is seeking a Fleet Manager to own the mobile equipment that keeps our frac sand operation moving. You will decide what gets inspected, what gets fixed first, and what parts are stocked, working shoulder-to-shoulder with mechanics, plant leadership, and operations to see your decisions reflected in the plant’s numbers.

From mining or heavy industry backgrounds, you’ll bring hands-on maintenance and diagnostic skills to ensure safety and reliability under MSHA rules.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience managing or maintaining mobile equipment or fleet assets.
• Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and when repairs are major.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Run daily fleet operations so equipment stays maintained and ready to work.
• Walk the iron and spot worn or damaged parts before downtime occurs.
• Assign and prioritize work orders for engines, fuel, exhaust, cooling, and electrical repairs.
• Test-drive and verify that equipment is safe and ready before returning to service.
• Keep maintenance and repair records clean and audit-ready.

As our Fleet Manager, you own the mobile equipment that keeps a growing frac sand operation moving — deciding what gets inspected, what gets fixed first, and what parts are on the shelf before anyone needs them. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with mechanics, plant leadership, and operations, and you'll see the results of your decisions in the plant's numbers every single day.

What You'll Own

• Run daily fleet operations — mobile equipment stays maintained, inspected, and ready to work.
• Walk the iron and spot worn or damaged parts, components, and systems before they become downtime.
• Assign and prioritize work orders for engines, fuel, exhaust, cooling, and electrical repairs.
• Test-drive and verify — nothing goes back in service until it's right.
• Keep maintenance and repair records clean and audit-ready.
• Own parts inventory: order, audit, and stock so repairs don't wait on a shipment.
• Partner with plant leadership, maintenance, and operations to keep production on schedule.
• Set the safety standard and keep every asset compliant with MSHA and company requirements.

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience managing or maintaining mobile equipment, vehicles, or heavy industrial fleet assets
• Solid grasp of vehicle mechanics and the judgment to know when a repair becomes a major one
• Confidence with diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Clear verbal and written communication
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, stoop, bend, or kneel for extended periods, indoors and outdoors in varying weather
• Heavy industrial, mining, or mobile equipment fleet experience preferred.
