Job summary

Covenant Logistics is seeking a Fleet Manager to coordinate with Operations Planner and drivers to dispatch loads and communicate load information. This role requires ensuring drivers are informed and aligned with schedules, while supporting cross-departmental objectives for efficiency and safety.

Key duties include load planning, being the drivers’ primary contact, monitoring performance metrics, and coordinating maintenance and safety readiness to meet planning goals.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 1-3 years' experience in transportation or logistics preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch loads to professional drivers and ensure drivers confirm on every load.
• Assist in load planning with professional driver and advise on trip plan.
• Be drivers’ first point of contact for all issues.
• Distribute information from drivers to proper department.
• Work with planner and CSR to ensure pickup and delivery times are met.
• Monitor IVG messaging.
• DTTS performance management.
• CPM responses to DTTS performance.
• Assist drivers with increasing productivity with their hours of service.
• Coordinate maintenance schedule with Director of Safey.
• Work with Director of Safety to ensure trucks are ready for planning.

Job description

The Fleet Manager, AAT will work directly with the Operations Planner and Professional Drivers to run day to day operations. They will be responsible for dispatching all loads and communicating the load information to drivers as well as being the drivers’ first line of communication for related topics. The Fleet Manager will also work with other departments to ensure operational goals are met.

Responsibilities

Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.

• Expected Pay Range: $49,657.00-$56,485.20
• Full Pay Range: $49,657.00-$77,924.00
• Pay Grade: 8
