Ohio Municipal League (OML) and member municipalities seek a Technician I to perform maintenance and repair on city vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing inspections, and coordinating parts for repairs while supporting emergency services when needed.
The position may require overtime, nights and weekends during winter operations and may be assigned to different divisions within the Public Works Department as needed.
Classified ad postings from OML member municipalities are free of charge. Member municipalities are asked to limit submissions to no more than two active classified ads at a time. A $75 fee applies to classified ads submitted by non-member Ohio municipalities, consulting agencies, recruitment platforms, and out-of-state organizations. Each ad runs for a maximum of 30 days or until the stated apply‑by date, whichever comes first.
Under the direct supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Division Supervisor and under the general supervision of the Public Works Superintendent, is responsible for the maintenance, repair and inspection activities of small gas equipment, light and heavy‑day vehicles, construction equipment, and emergency response vehicles (based on the level of the position). Subject to emergency callouts and must be able to work overtime including nights, weekends, and stand‑by as required. Extended evening shift and weekends should be expected during winter operations. May be assigned to any division within the Public Works Department as a substitute for individuals on vacation, sick leave, etc., or during heavy workload periods or emergency situations.
