Job summary

Western New York Integrated Care Collaborative, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to ensure diesel-powered vehicles are safely and efficiently operating to meet driver needs and DOT compliance.

This full-time, second shift role involves hands-on repair and diagnostics. You will inspect suspensions, brakes, transmissions, and hydraulics, perform oil changes, alignments, and maintain service records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification and training in diesel engine repair from a vocational school or community college.
• Advanced knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and diesel engines.
• Proficiency with diesel engine diagnostic software and maintenance tools.
• CDL class A or B preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work orders after inspecting vehicle and equipment including trailers.
• Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret results to offer suitable solutions.
• Inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhaust.
• Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and other parts.
• Conduct field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
• Test drive repaired vehicles to gauge performance.
• Complete oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
• Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.

Job Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic position collaborates with other repair team members to ensure a vehicle is safely and efficiently operating to the driver’s needs and DOT compliances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing work orders after fully inspecting vehicle and equipment including trailers.
• Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions.
• Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
• Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, Hydraulic systems, and other associated parts
• Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
• Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
• Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks
• Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification and training in diesel engine repair from a vocational school or a community college. Training modules include drive trains, preventive maintenance, inspection, engine architecture and electronic systems.
• Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
• In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
• Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
• Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
• Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
• A valid driver's license.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Effective collaboration and communication skills
• CDL class A or B preferred, although not required
• Welding skills are a plus

Physical Demands

• Must have the ability to climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work at heights, and in outside weather conditions.
• Exhibit good work habits, including excellent attendance and individual productivity.
