Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diesel/gas engines, and GSE equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting.

SUMMARY

The GSE Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at one or more locations. This role ensures equipment is safe, operational, and available to support business needs through effective preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and team leadership. The GSE Manager supervises maintenance staff, coordinates repair activities, and ensures compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. This position partners closely with Operations and other departments to support efficient and reliable ground operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily GSE maintenance operations, including preventative maintenance and repairs
• Supervise and support GSE Mechanics, Assistants, and Supervisors (if applicable)
• Ensure equipment availability and minimize downtime to support operational needs
• Schedule and prioritize maintenance work based on operational demands
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and regulatory requirements
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and maintenance activities
• Monitor and track maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history
• Coordinate with Operations to address equipment needs and service issues
• Manage parts inventory, tools, and maintenance supplies
• Assist in budgeting and cost control related to maintenance and repairs
• Support vendor coordination for specialized repairs and services
• Investigate and resolve equipment failures and recurring issues
• Train and develop team members on proper maintenance procedures and safety standards
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance reporting
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age or older
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
• Ability to travel frequently to various locations
• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• 5–8 years of experience in GSE, fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment repair
• 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diesel/gas engines, and GSE equipment
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues
• Experience with maintenance tracking systems or work order systems preferred
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and operations leadership
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (basic Excel, email, reporting)
• Pass a background check and drug screen
• Flexibility to support operational needs, including extended hours as needed
