Arakelian Enterprises Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead shop operations, oversee maintenance and tire programs, and ensure repairs are documented and compliant with federal and state regulations.

The role requires ten years of management experience with 15+ shop staff, environmental compliance knowledge, and proficiency in MS Office. You will coach staff, drive safety, and leverage maintenance software to improve performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or GED.
• Ten years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager with 15+ shop employees.
• Experience with environmental compliance (storm water, hazmat).
• Knowledge of Motor Carrier BIT, DOT regulations, CSA 2010, and CARB.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; able to learn internal software.
• Experience implementing safety programs in a fleet environment.
• Experience resolving HR and labor relations issues.
• Ability to perform physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Fleet Periodic Maintenance Inspection Program and audit processes for quality inspections/repairs.
• Oversee Fleet Tire Program including tire inspection, repair, and tire matching across the fleet.
• Ensure proper parts inventory management and organization.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to maintenance employees.
• Oversee fleet compliance with Federal and State regulations (FMCSA, CHP).
• Promote the use of technology to improve shop performance (Dossier).

SummaryThe Fleet Maintenance Manager will oversee all shop activities working with the Shop Supervisors to ensure that the maintenance of all company equipment is being completed in a safe and timely manner. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will be consistently reviewing and auditing all maintenance programs in order to ensure success of the truck maintenance department.Job DescriptionOversee the Fleet Periodic Maintenance Inspection Program by regularly reviewing and auditing processes/procedures to ensure that the maintenance employees are performing quality inspections/repairs, documenting all repairs, and making process alterations as needed.Oversee the Fleet Tire Program by regularly reviewing and auditing processes/procedures to ensure that the tire employees are checking and adjusting air pressures to proper levels, properly repairing tires, and switching/matching tires within the fleet to get the most out of each tire.Ensures proper parts inventory management and organization. Performs regular inspections to guarantee processes are being followed.Promote positive team work and safe working behaviors.Provide proper coaching and/or mentorship to all maintenance employees that will help promote a healthy and positive work environment.Oversee fleet compliance by ensuring daily inspections of all Company vehicles that are governed under the Federal and State regulatory agencies (Federal Motor Carrier, CHP).Promote the use of relevant technology and information systems that improve shop performance such as Dossier.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma and/or GEDTen years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager - directly managing 15+ shop employees daily.Work experience with environmental compliance (storm water reporting, hazmat manifests, etc).Extensive knowledge of Motor Carrier BIT Inspection Program, D.O.T. Regulations, North American Out of Service Criteria, CSA 2010, C.A.R.B.Self-motivated, highly competitive, and results-oriented with a proven and documented history of success.Proficiency level skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
