As a Fleet Maintenance Fueler Washer at Penske, you’ll ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and safe before they hit the road again. You will be the face of Penske—the person greeting our customers when they arrive and the one sending them off with a smile.
Main Responsibilities
- Greeting customers and ensuring a positive experience as you fuel and wash vehicles.
- Performing vehicle readiness inspections to confirm tires, fluids, and other basic maintenance items are completed.
- Helping maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and associates.
- Acquiring skills through training and coaching to perform minor repairs such as installing mounted tires, replacing or rotating tires, and carrying out preventive maintenance tasks.
- Completing other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

General Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalent, or prior work experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work outside.
- Basic mechanical ability and tool usage (preferred).
- Basic computer skills.
- Understanding and compliance with Penske management instructions, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
- Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper tool selection, PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
- Requirement to maintain a current driver qualification file, including annual motor vehicle records check, DOT physical, safety performance history, and, if applicable, CDL-specific drug screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
- Willingness to work the required schedule, location, complete the Penske employment application, undergo background screening, pass drug and physical screens, and potentially travel locally for training.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
- Routine hand use for grasping, reaching, touching, handling, and operating tools or controls.
- Safe work at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
- Safe work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to see and hear to safely navigate the workplace with frequent large truck activity.
- Regular lifting and moving up to 50 lbs (23 kg); occasional lifting up to 100 lbs (45 kg); ability to push/pull truck tires weighing over 100 lbs.
