GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
CDL Driver is responsible for completing, accurate, and on-time deliveries to and from customers and pickups from vendors. Represents the company in a highly professional, safe, and cost-effective manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties may vary depending on the needs of the business
- Knowledge of utility equipment, PPE and tools is a plus.
- Partner with sales team and leadership in providing availability to pick up and deliver orders by utilizing online calendar.
- Prepares box truck or gooseneck & 5th wheel style trailer for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of truck and securing of items and by verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
- Inspects truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc., to ensure safe and cost-effective performance, with preventive maintenance in mind
- Delivers orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established timeframes and customers’ needs
- May be responsible for unloading items at customer location
- Maintains communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received
- Documents delivery, accuracy, and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and reports any discrepancies to company
- Increases customer satisfaction by collecting information and feedback on service and resolving complaints per company policy; communicates information back to company
- Maintains and monitors truck maintenance and driving record requirements; maintains required documents for safety, security, and quality processes
- Safely operates forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment, as required
- Maintains proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies, as required

Requirements
EDUCATION & TRAINING & LICENSURES
- 5+ years driving experience
- 3+ years CDL driving experience
- 3+ years driving commercial vehicle
- 3+ years driving commercial trailer
- Forklift, Pallet Jack, Hand Trucks Experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Electronic Login Device (ELD) Proficient
- Pass new hire and random drug screening per DOT requirement
- Valid Class-A Commercial Driver's License
- Maintains a safe driving record free of violations
- Ability to pass a DOT Physical
- Ability to safely drive at night
- Flexible schedule and willing to work assigned routes and adaptable to changes
- Must have a high school diploma/GED
- Some heavy lifting required
- Ability to travel from TX to; LA, AR, OK, KS, CO, NM, and MS with the possibility to include other states in the future or during natural disaster situations
- Available early mornings, days, overnight and weekends dependent on the needs of the business.
