Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest provider of building materials and services, is seeking a dispatcher to assign motor vehicles and drivers for material conveyance. The role involves organizing routes, tracking shipments, and coordinating with drivers to meet delivery timelines.

The ideal candidate will have a GED or equivalent experience, basic math skills, and the ability to read and interpret procedures. High school diploma or GED with relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 6 months to 1 year related experience or training.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general procedures and information.
• Basic math and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Compiles list of available vehicles.
• Assigns vehicles according to trip requirements and user preferences.
• Assigns orders to lift operators and delivers to inventory.
• Issues keys, records, and credentials to drivers.
• Tracks departure times, destinations, cargo, and return estimates.
• Investigates overdue vehicles and expedites missing or delayed merchandise.
