Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers. You will handle brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, electrical work, and PM inspections, with roadside service as needed.

You’ll operate diagnostic tools, maintain records, support parts inventory, and work flexible hours in a nationwide fleet-service environment. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification a plus.
• Prior experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, or heavy truck mechanic preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
• Must be able to lift/move tires and equipment (30-250 lbs.), with or without aids.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical systems on semi-trucks and trailers (brakes, HVAC, drivetrains, electrical).
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues.
• Respond to roadside service calls using a company service truck when required.
• Assist with parts inventory and shop organization.
