Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a production support role focused on loading shipments and ensuring accurate weights and contaminant-free trailers.

You will inspect trailers, allocate product types, complete bills of lading, and participate in training and safety programs. This position requires an industrial background, ability to work shifts and lift up to 50 pounds, and CDL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years experience in a load-out environment.
• CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect truck trailers and railcars to ensure they are free from contaminants before loading.
• Distribute product types to the correct trucks and ensure proper weight per shipment.
• Complete bill of lading for truck shipments.
• Maintain a smooth and efficient flow of truck loading.
• Cross-train in other production areas as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

Familiar with different silo product types. Prior to loading product, inspect truck trailers to ensure they are free from contaminants. Ensure proper material and weight is loaded for each shipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrate the ability to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of truck loading.

• Prior to loading product, inspect truck trailers and railcars to ensure they are free from containments.

• Ensure different product types are distributed into the appropriate trucks and the proper weight is loaded for each shipment.

• Familiar with different silo product types.

• Complete bill of lading for truck shipments.

Training

• Training of new employees on equipment related to load out and fuel charging areas.

• Cross train in other production areas as needed.

Maintenance and quality control

• Keep truck scales clean.

• Responsible for maintaining a water free environment at scales.

• Ability to make minor adjustments to load-out related equipment.

• Complete daily equipment check reports.

Safety

• Perform all assigned work adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulations, including company lock out tag out procedures.

ATTRIBUTES

Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.

• Must be able perform basic mathematical computations.

• Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.

• Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.

• Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs.

• Demonstrate the ability to operate computers and related controls.

• Self-Motivated and must be able to work independently.

• Must be able to multi-task and be calm under pressure.

• Good decision making skills regarding safety.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Must be capable of working shift work, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed

• Ability to occasionally lift/carry 50 pounds

• Demonstrated skills of heavy equipment operation a plus, but minimum as demonstrated for an over the road haul truck

• History of safe operation of vehicle as demonstrated on driving record

• Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers

• Must be able to perform in compliance with all task training requirements

• Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.

• Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.

• Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, managers, and peers.

• Demonstrate the ability to operate a computer preferred.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

High School Diploma or, GED Equivalent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

1-2 years experience in a load out environment. CDL required.
