Job summary

Brayman Construction Corporation, a leading heavy civil contractor near Pittsburgh, seeks a Fleet Automotive Technician to join our Field Support Team. This hands-on role maintains Ford light-duty trucks and trailers, troubleshoots issues, and keeps vehicles safe and reliable.

You will perform preventive maintenance, assist with upfitting, read hydraulic/electrical schematics, and work in a team-oriented shop environment with PPE and safety in mind.

Qualifications

  • Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer proficiency for accessing service information, completing work orders, and using diagnostic software.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude and a reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing Ford light-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Performing state-required safety inspections.
  • Installing, balancing, rotating, and servicing tires.

Brayman Construction is currently seeking a Fleet Automotive Technician to join our Field Support Team and help maintain our growing fleet operations. This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in quality work, values efficiency, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

Fleet Automotive Technician - Key Responsibilities :

As a Shop Automotive Mechanic, you'll help keep our fleet operating safely, reliably, and efficiently by:

  • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing Ford light-duty trucks and trailers
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues to minimize vehicle downtime
  • Performing state-required safety inspections
  • Installing, balancing, rotating, and servicing tires
  • Completing scheduled preventative maintenance and routine service work
  • Assisting with vehicle upfitting, accessory installation, and new equipment setup
What We're Looking For in a Fleet Automotive Technician :

The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail‑oriented mechanic with strong technical abilities and a commitment to quality workmanship. You should have:

  • Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • The ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Basic computer proficiency for accessing service information, completing work orders, and using diagnostic software

Qualifications for Fleet Automotive Technician :
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Automotive or technical school education preferred
  • 2-5 years of hands‑on automotive repair experience
  • Post‑secondary training in automotive or diesel mechanics strongly preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position involves working in both indoor and outdoor shop environments where noise, dirt, and changing weather conditions may be present. Candidates must be able to:

  • Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday
  • Occasionally kneel, squat, crouch, twist, and work in confined spaces
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while using tools and equipment
  • Safely perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
