The Traffic Control Apprentice role supports safe, efficient work zones around construction sites and temporary disruptions, assisting with traffic control and safety procedures.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (preferred), Traffic Control/Flagger certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic using signs, paddles, and flags.
• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control zones (cones, barricades, signage).
• Communicate clearly with drivers to ensure safe and orderly traffic flow.
• Monitor work zones and traffic patterns to identify and respond to potential hazards.
• Coordinate with team members and supervisors using radios and hand signals.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Alert crew members of unsafe conditions or non-compliant drivers.
• Assist with loading and unloading traffic control equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Traffic Control Apprentice at Southeast Traffic Supply, A Helix Family company, plays a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow around construction zones, road work, and other temporary disruptions. This position is responsible for protecting workers, motorists, and pedestrians by following established traffic control procedures and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic using signs, paddles, and flags

• Communicate clearly with drivers to ensure safe and orderly traffic flow
