Job summary

Park Slope Armory YMCA in New York City is seeking a Flag Football Instructor to work with children and teens, promoting sport enjoyment, skill development, and confidence building. The role focuses on safe, inclusive programs and progressive lesson plans.

Responsibilities include creating a positive experience, applying YMCA core values, and communicating effectively with participants and guardians. Requirements include a HS diploma, 1 year youth sports coaching, First Aid/CPR, and training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching children/teens Flag Football in a structured setting.
• Knowledge of youth development stages.
• Content expert in designated sports activity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members of all ages.
• Current First Aid or CPR certifications.
• Must attend the YMCA Coaching 101 Training within ninety (90) days of employment.
• Must receive the CDC HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports certificate within thirty (30) days of employment.

Responsibilities

The Park Slope Armory YMCA is seeking a Flag Football Instructor who will be responsible for working with children/teens to promote the enjoyment of sports activities while improving physical competence, developing confidence, and teaching basic skill development. The overall major functions of the Flag Football Instructor also include:

• Provide a fun, safe, and positive experience for all participants.
• Demonstrate strong service and hospitality with all constituents, including, but not limited to, program participants and parents/guardians.
• Create an all-inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Teach progressive lessons and provide opportunities to demonstrate learned skills.
• Encourage a lifetime participation in sports and physical activity.
