General Motors is seeking a Fixed Operations Specialist to empower Zone and District Managers across the assigned territory. This field-based role requires up to 75% travel to dealerships, with relocation to Detroit or Southeast Michigan encouraged within 60 days.

The specialist will train, coach and drive process integration, develop tools, and deliver performance and analysis reports to support Parts and Service operations.

  • Automotive industry knowledge including parts, service operations, warranty administration and customer experience.

  • Develop, implement and document action plans to address performance gaps and opportunities.
  • Partner with regional and field teams to ensure alignment with goals and plans.

Job Description

Field Work Arrangement: This is a field-based position that requires up to 75% travel to dealerships within the assigned territory on a recurring basis. The selected candidate must currently reside within the Michigan or Ohio territory or be willing to relocate to Detroit, Southeast Michigan, or a surrounding area approved by leadership within 60 days of the start date.

The Role

The Fixed Operations Specialist has the territorial responsibilities of empowering a cohesive and adaptable team of Zone and District Managers who integrate parts and service functions on a day-to-day basis. They may be involved in a variety of initiatives including training, coaching, as well as process integration, tools development, performance and analysis reports and business planning.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Zone and District Parts and Service Managers, providing guidance and support to achieve business objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth, key performance indicator (KPI) performance, and effective execution of Customer Care and Aftersales programs and initiatives.
  • Identify, address, and resolve Zone and District business needs across areas such as inventory management, warranty, customer experience, retention, training, and electric vehicle compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and document action plans to address performance gaps, business challenges, and emerging opportunities.
  • Partner with regional and field teams to ensure execution aligns with business goals, performance metrics, and established action plans.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, guiding and improving fixed operations
  • Proficient automotive industry knowledge and business acumen including parts, service operations, warranty administration and customer experience
  • Ability to travel >50% of the time domestically, cross multiple states within the region
  • Must possess and maintain the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle in accordance with the licensing requirements of the states in which work is performed
