Job summary

Piper Sandler in New York, NY is seeking a Fixed Income Analyst within the PSFS group to support senior strategists, build client-ready reports, and analyze balance sheets and markets. You will model peer analyses for banks and credit unions, maintain client portfolios, and generate timely trade ideas.

The role requires up to 2 years in financial services, a related bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with derivatives or derivatives accounting is a plus.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in financial services; analytic background strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, math, financial engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency with interest rate derivatives or derivatives accounting is a plus.
• Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
• FINRA Series 7, 63 & SIE licenses (or willingness to obtain within 120 days).

Responsibilities

• Support senior strategists, coordinate with sales force and liaise with trading desk to develop professional reports and strategies for client presentation.
• Model peer analysis for financial institutions.
• Maintain client portfolios and strategies by updating, pricing, and generating reports and trade ideas in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate understanding of economic, market and sector conditions, as well as bond accounting, regulatory, and overall balance sheet issues.
