Job summary

Capital Group in West Los Angeles seeks an FRG Associate to perform deep, bottom-up fundamental research on high yield issuers. You will build and maintain financial models, analyze capital structures, and deliver investment ideas in partnership with Fixed Income professionals.

Travel to meet management teams and industry experts will be expected as you grow in the role. You have 2–5 years in credit research, a strong background in modeling, and familiarity with Bloomberg and data tools.

  • 2-5 years of experience in credit research, with focus on corporate/high yield credits.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct bottom-up fundamental credit research on companies and industries.
  • Perform financial modeling and valuation analyses to support investment decisions.

  • Provide relative value assessments and capital-structure analyses for high yield opportunities.

As one of our FRG Associates, you will work closely and collaborate with Fixed Income Investment Professionals and peers to deliver valuable insights, conduct bottom-up fundamental research and analysis that will drive investment decisions. You will partner with investors on their coverage to help generate investment ideas and monitor holdings by conducting deep fundamental research on companies and related industries, financial modeling, facilitating meetings with management teams, sell-side firms and industry specialists, relative value comparison, analyzing capital structures, and working as a key contributor in the high yield corporate credit investment process. You will work on projects with growing complexity over time, receiving guidance and mentorship from experienced investment professionals. I am the person Capital Group is looking for. · You are passionate about a career in credit research with a strong interest in high-yield corporate credit investing.· You have 2-5 years of experience in credit research (experience covering corporate credit; high yield corporate credit is preferred).· You have a strong desire to continue to develop bottom-up fundamental credit research skills working in partnership with experienced investment professionals.· You have extensive experience with financial modeling and fundamental credit analysis, working with sell-side firms and industry consultants, Bloomberg, utilizing research tools, trade publications, online sources, regulatory filings, etc., and interpreting this information to generate insightful analysis.· You have a proven ability to develop and maintain comprehensive charts and visualizations to support credit analysis and communicate investment insights effectively.· You thrive in team settings.
