Job summary

Washington State Investment Board in Olympia is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Fixed Income team as an Assistant Investment Officer or Investment Officer to support prudent management of the fixed income portfolio. Candidates should have analytics, programming, and data skills, with Excel, SQL, Python, and familiarity with Bloomberg; CFA progress preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business administration or computer/data science, OR a related field.
Minimum two years of fixed income investment experience in portfolio analytics/performance attribution, credit evaluation, portfolio management, economic analysis, and related finance experience.
A relevant Master’s degree and/or CFA designation may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

Assist in the management of the Fixed Income unit’s analytics and performance reporting through internal portfolio databases and analytics tools.
Ensure analytics databases accurately reflect portfolio assets and risks.
Maintain records of portfolio transactions, holdings and liquidity management.
Prepare and analyze performance reporting for the WSIB Board, staff, and Department of Labor and Industries.
Provide data for reports or presentations for the Board and stakeholders.
Verify data accuracy in board presentations and reports.
Maintain congruency between custodial databases, external data, and internal analytics.
Collaborate with Investment Data, Portfolio Administration and custodian staff to resolve issues.
Assist with oversight of investment policy compliance.
Provide performance attribution for decision-making and ad hoc analysis.
Lead technological advancement of portfolio analytics solutions.
