Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity Engineer for Luling, LA to maintain & improve mechanical integrity of fixed assets & equipment at agricultural chemical manufacturing plant; lead investigations of process safety-related equipment failures; define & implement fixed asset maintenance and risk-based inspection strategies; design corrosion testing programs; perform engineering & fitness for service evaluations and audits; train junior engineers & technicians. Requires Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or closely-related field & 5 yrs experience in mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering position(s):

1. Performing mechanical integrity audits of manufacturing equipment to assess fitness for service applying API 579 standards;
2. Designing corrosion testing programs for manufacturing equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) inspection & repair standards;
3. Developing & maintaining fixed equipment inspection procedures for chemical manufacturing plants;
4. Managing risk & condition based fixed equipment inspection programs;
5. Managing structural steel integrity programs at chemical manufacturing plants;
6. Managing fixed equipment projects, including developing scope of work, technical specifications & calculations;
7. Researching & implementing best practices and introducing new materials of construction to improve mechanical integrity;
8. Applying ASME Fabrication & Post Construction Code repair standards to inspection procedures.
