MCG is seeking a Fitter/Welder to align, fit and weld fabricated sheet metal parts per drawings,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in sheet‑metal fabrication or welding.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and cut‑sheet packages.
• Proficiency with MIG or Flux‑core welding and measuring.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
• Position and fit parts per blueprints and tolerance.
• Set up welding machines; perform MIG welding in multiple positions.
• Inspect welds for quality and bead size.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized workspace.
• Operate cutting tools and fabricating equipment as required.
• Complete tasks efficiently, aiming to meet or beat estimated hours.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The overallobjectiveof the Fitter/Welder is to align, fit, and weld fabricated sheet metal parts of our products per drawingspecification, andensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards. Consistent andaccuratemodeling andrepresenting ofthe Mission Critical Group brand, mission, vision,valuesand organizational strategy are essential to achieving the goals of the organization.

Schedule: Monday to Friday6AM-2:30PM

Accountabilities

• Applying technical knowledge to review engineering drawings anddeterminerequirements and specifications needed for the fabrication of the sheet metal structures of our product.
• Following blueprints and layout specifications, to position, align and fitparts tofor quality and efficient square and tack welding within tolerance.
• Setting upweldingmachine for proper wire speed to produce a quality weld fordifferent materialsand thicknesses.
• Welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions and then examining the welds for quality specifications, including proper bead sizes.
• Cleaning welds using hand scrappers, grinders, and sanders, as required, to prepare surfaces for painting.
• Proficientlyoperatinga cutting torch, band saw, ironworker,grinderand other fabricating equipment, asrequired.
• Maintaining a safe,cleanandwell organizedwork area.
• Proficiently weld mild steel material with MIG.
• Ensuring quality and efficiency by completing the job task faster than estimated hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Knowledge / Experience

• 3+yearsof experience in sheet‑metal fabrication or welding
• Intrapersonal Skills: Self‑motivated and able toidentify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others. Hold a strong regard for guidelines,proceduresand integrity.
• Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Toolsinclude:welding machine, grander, sander, basic hand tools (hammers, clamps, etc.), forklift, overhead crane, ironworker, cuttingtorchand bandsaw.
• Technical Experience: Ability to read and process drawings and cut‑sheet packages. Proficient in measuring,squaringand math skills.Ability to MIG or Flux‑core weld.
• Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite.
• Verbal & Written Communication Skills: Minimum Skills (Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of theorganization.).
• Math Skills: This position requires minimal skills (add, subtract, etc.).
• Arm‑Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
• Visualization: The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
• Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
