Job summary

MSS Solutions, LLC is seeking a Fitter – TRK/INF to support HVAC/Mechanical/Industrial projects. You will measure and cut pipe, perform soldering and threading, and ensure safe, functional pipe systems while coordinating with foremen and team members.

The role requires 2–3 years of pipe fitting experience, personal hand tools, a professional demeanor, and the ability to read blueprints and follow safety procedures. A valid license and clean background are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience fitting pipe.
  • Must have personal hand tools for the position.
  • Professional appearance and communication with foreman.
  • Punctuality and readiness to work in uniform.
  • Must pass background check and drug test.
  • Ability to read blueprints and identify/install/repair pipe systems.
  • Familiarity with cutting and welding methods.
  • Adherence to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with HVAC/Mechanical/Industrial projects.
  • Measure and cut pipe per requirements.
  • Soldering, brazing, threading, grooving pipe and hangers.
  • Repair malfunctions, leaks, and test pipe systems for safety.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials on job sites.
  • Complete documentation and communicate with customers and management.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist with all work related to HVAC/Mechanical/Industrial projects
  • Measure and cut pipe according to requirements
  • Soldering, brazing, threading pipe, grooving pipe, installing hangers as well as carbon steel pipe (up to 24”)
  • Repairing malfunctions, breakages, or leaks
  • Testing pipe systems to ensure safety and functionality
  • Communicate professionally with management and team members
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures
  • Observe, report, and correct unsafe work environments
  • Collaborate with other workers to complete the project
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining tools, equipment, and project materials on job sites
  • Complete all job-related documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional communication with customers at all times, both in person and through electronic correspondence
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of company vehicles while adhering to all company Fleet Policy requirements
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 2-3 Years of experience fitting pipe
  • Must have personal hand tools required for the position
  • Present yourself in a professional manner
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Foreman and follow directions
  • Ability to show up on time, ready to work, and in uniform
  • Must successfully pass a background check
  • Must successfully pass a drug test
  • Ability to identify, install, and repair mechanical pipe systems
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the trade as needed
  • Knowledge of cutting and welding methods
  • Ability to abide by basic safe work practices
  • Must successfully pass a background check & drug test
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, days, nights, and some weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
  • Physical Demands: Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
  • Material Handling:? lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 115 lbs. frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs., placing the position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).?
Work Environment:

Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places.
