Job summary

Dogwood Industries is seeking a Fitter Fabricator to join our Sedro-Woolley, WA team. The successful candidate will weld steel assemblies from plans, perform fitting tasks, and finish welding operations following drawings and WPS.

Ideal applicants will have 5+ years welding experience or relevant trade education, be able to read shop drawings, and maintain quality standards. Shift differentials apply for Swing and Weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree.
• 5+ years of experience welding or trade school education.
• Certified welder holding current WABO or AWS certification (FCAW).
• Skillful operation of most non-specialized metal working equipment.
• Understands and applies visual inspection criteria in pre-QC work checks.

Responsibilities

• Welding competency in all positions.
• Able to set weld machines to optimum parameters for work in accordance with WPS.
• Understands weld symbols and prepares joints in accordance with code.
• Competent in metal fabrication to exact specifications and drawings.
• Operate machinery and tools such as grinders, saws, torches, and drills to measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal parts according to design specifications.
• Fit, align, and adjust parts to ensure proper functionality and attention to the design.
• Performs fitting work as instructed.
• Utilizes jigs and fixtures where appropriate.
• Places welds of proper size, spacing and sequence per work instruction.
• Ability to read and understand shop plans, blueprints and work orders.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
