Job summary

EZARC is seeking a production fitter in Utah to assemble and fit drawing dimensions of structural, plate, and mechanical materials. You will read blueprints, plan the fitting operation, and use your skills to align parts, bolt items, and ensure proper layout and fit-up.

The role requires welding and fabrication experience and adherence to safety rules. The successful candidate will maintain a clean workspace, perform routine duties as directed, and complete a fitter test.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in welding and fitting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and procedural manuals.
• Must pass fitter test.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions, prints, sketches, and work orders.
• Read and interpret blueprints and plan the fitting operation.
• Direct and assist in handling and spreading material, assembling material into required relationships according to detail drawings; placing bolts, drift pins, and other fastening deceives in proper locations.
• Lay out work lines or fit up jigs for positioning material when required; checks, squares, and scribes all detail connections.
• Responsible for work conforming to drawings and notes thereon.
• Clean up material by grinding or chipping.
• Burn and tack welds for assembly purposes. Burn, cope and bevel, and straighten material. Do structural fit-up and layout.
• Spot paints for identification marks.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.
• Perform other routine duties per management direction.
• Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.

The production fitter utilizes a high degree of proficiency while utilizing full skills of the trade including knowledge of blueprints and common heat reactions of structural metals.
