Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Health Science, or related field
• Current certification from an NCCA-accredited program (e.g., NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE) and 2 years of work experience
• CPR certification required
• AED and First Aid certifications preferred
• Experience instructing a class of 10-20 students
• Experience with fitness/workout equipment

Responsibilities

• Prepare syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching aids in nutrition, physical fitness and healthy lifestyles for students preparing to work in the construction industry.
• Classroom/Physical Training Fitness Center preparation, lesson planning, classroom instruction (theory and contextualized learning and assessment).
• Create an effective learning environment that fosters students' intellectual curiosity and helps students solve problems using discipline-specific thinking strategies.
• Prepare and maintain daily student documentation and provide student performance evaluation.
• Use formative and summative assessments to ensure instruction leads to learning and outcomes.
• Provide reports, evaluations and documentation of training materials.
• Perform testing and usability checks on fitness equipment and report issues.
• Fill out incident report forms after accidents or injuries related to equipment use.
• Help students reach academic, personal, and career goals and promote a safe, diverse environment.
• Collaborate, evaluate, and update curriculum and courses.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned.
