About the Fitness Trainer Role

As a Fitness Trainer, you will operate the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). Responsibilities include:

• Creating a class schedule for members, including Orientation and DYOP (Develop your own program).
• Proactively engage with members on the club floor regarding their fitness goals; instruct them on how to safely use the equipment and provide support as needed.
• Help promote our Judgement Free Zone® by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance, and upholding club policies.
• Frequently perform a comprehensive walk of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience and quickly address issues as they are identified.
• Perform prospective member calls and tours; assess membership needs and offer Trainer services.

Daily Responsibilities

• Greet members/guests as they enter and exit the club; assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
• Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
• Regular cleaning and sanitizing of all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities, including communal spaces and assigned areas.
• Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked, and clutter-free by following the cleaning schedule.

Compensation & Benefits

• The hourly pay range for this position is $18.00 to $19.50. Planet Fitness reserves the right to pay above or below the posted range based on factors unrelated to a person’s protected class.
• Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; short-term and long-term disability; term life insurance; 401(k); flexible spending accounts; vacation, sick, and holiday pay; and a free Black Card Membership. Some benefits are for full-time employees only.

About Your Qualifications

• 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Willing to become CPR/AED Certified (training provided by Planet Fitness).
• Nationally Certified Training Certificate required.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Demands

• Continual standing and movement throughout the club during shift.
• Frequent communication in person or on the phone to exchange information during shift.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
• Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
• Moving and bending/twisting to accomplish tasks.
