Job Summary

The Fitness Supervisor is responsible for supporting the fitness department to ensure the delivery of high-quality, professional, and innovative health and fitness services to club members. This role is responsible for helping oversee all fitness-related programs, ensuring they meet safety standards and exceed member expectations.

Reporting Structure
  • Reports to the Fitness Director
  • May report to the General Manager in the absence of a Fitness Director
Day to Day
  • Help oversee the onboarding process for new members, ensuring successful FitStart bookings and integration into the fitness programs.
  • Monitor and report on FitStart activity, including conversion rates and sales performance.
  • Assist in creating member engagement initiatives to promote and educate members about fitness programs and services.
  • Regularly update and refresh fitness center and club marketing materials to ensure visibility and member awareness.
  • Contribute to developing fitness programs that meet the diverse needs and interests of club members.
  • Inspire and motivate the fitness team to meet or exceed sales targets, contributing to overall departmental success.
  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process for all fitness positions, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates.
  • Support the Group Exercise Program, collaborating with the Fitness Director (or General Manager if no Fitness Director is available).
  • Ensure that staff comply with corporate policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Uphold exceptional customer service standards by helping implement staff training programs, incentive initiatives, and continuous professional development opportunities.
  • Help enforce the Invited Service Standards and ensure consistent application through staff training and daily practice.
  • Support the fitness booking system to guarantee all members are accommodated for their sessions.
  • Audit group exercise classes to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and engagement.
  • Support fitness floor staffing schedules to ensure optimal service during peak hours.
  • Ensure the fitness center remains clean, organized, and well-maintained, with all equipment fully operational.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the Fitness Director or General Manager in a timely manner.
  • Support daily fitness operations, including member services, communication, marketing, staffing, and overall team management.
  • Adhere to and enforce Invited’s standard operating procedures for all fitness staff.
  • Collaborate with the Fitness Director (or General Manager) to implement and execute quarterly strategic plans for the fitness department.
  • Assist in the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Fitness Director (or General Manager) to manage payroll, ensuring staffing remains within the budget for non‑revenue‑generating hours.
  • Track all hours, FitStart sessions, and new client activity on the Leaderboard to maintain accountability and transparency.
Additional Duties
  • Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Represent the company's management team by supporting and enforcing policies while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
  • Promote and follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
  • Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
  • Support the overall efficiency of the team by collaborating and contributing to the club’s goals.
Required
About You
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a fitness‑related role, such as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, or fitness coordinator.
  • Current certifications: ACSM, NASM, ACE, PTA Global, NFPT, ISSA, CSCS or NSCA.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in health‑related.
  • Experience in organizing and overseeing multiple fitness programs and activities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with fitness program development and execution, including personal training, group classes, and wellness initiatives.
  • Proven experience delivering excellent customer service in a fitness or health club environment.
  • Ability to engage with members, assess their fitness needs, and create a welcoming, supportive atmosphere.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
  • Occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases.
  • Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing.
Primary Tools / Equipment
  • Fitness equipment such as free wights, resistance bands, cardio machines, etc., (5-30 lbs.).
  • Computer/Tablets.
  • Fitness program charts/worksheets.
  • Monitoring tools such as stopwatch or timer.
Work Schedule
  • Adherence to attendance requirements as outlined in the weekly schedule.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet position deadlines.
  • Availability to work on weekends and/or holidays as required.
