Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and sales-driven leader to take on the role of Fitness Manager. The Fitness Manager will spend time on the floor, building relationships with members while selling training packages and developing a team of personal trainers to do the same. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sales and helping members achieve their health and wellness goals.
Responsibilities
- Achieve sales targets month-over-month, driving membership growth and ensuring the team meets or exceeds set goals for new personal training agreements, client retention, and overall revenue generation.
- Collaborate with the membership sales team to support new member onboarding, drive sales initiatives, and establish a smooth transition into the club experience.
- Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff members, including Personal Training Managers, Assistant Fitness Managers and Personal Trainers.
- Manage the payroll process for Assistant Fitness Managers and personal trainers to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Effectively communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to other department leaders and staff members, ensuring everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure all fitness staff have appropriate certifications and training such as CPR, First Aid, and personal trainer certifications.
- Provide constructive feedback to staff members on performance, using clear and specific language to highlight strengths and areas for improvement.
- Ensure high-quality customer service by addressing member concerns or complaints, managing membership inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.
- Engage with members in a friendly and approachable manner, actively listening to their needs and concerns, and providing clear and helpful responses.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, keep proper certifications, and implement safety protocols.
- Supervise the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, including equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.
- In the event of emergencies or unexpected disruptions, communicate calmly and clearly with staff and members, providing necessary instructions and updates to ensure safety and well‑being.
Qualifications
- 2 years of management experience; fitness/personal training management preferred.
- 3‑4 years of customer service experience.
- Personal Training sales experience highly preferred.
- Prior experience or strong interest in the fitness industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and vendors.
- Excellent relationship building and influencing skills with people at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail; systematic and thorough approach to problem solving; strong time management, organization, and record‑keeping skills.

Requirements
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Must have valid PT certification.
- Ability to work in a gym setting, move about club floors and rooms, and communicate with employees, members, and the public.
- Ability to access and operate the company computer system, including preparing documents and entering data.
- Ability to bend routinely and repetitively to lift more than 40 lbs.
Compensation
- Variable income opportunities including commission and bonus.

$60,000 - $60,000 USD
