Job summary

Nex Playground, a leading motion-gaming innovator, seeks a Fitness Instructor, Digital Content to craft workouts and engage families through BoxFlow and NexGym. You’ll choreograph beat-synced boxing routines, write and record voiceovers, and grow fitness challenges with a focus on parent involvement and consistency.

Qualifications

• Group fitness teaching experience.

• Clear, energetic script writing and on-mic delivery.

Responsibilities

• Choreograph BoxFlow workouts to music using boxing moves for beginner and intermediate players.
• Write and record voiceover scripts cueing combos, coaching form, and motivation; appear on camera as needed.
• Design and lead fitness challenges and programs across BoxFlow and NexGym to help parents start and stay consistent.
• Engage the fitness community as a coaching voice and provide feedback to the team.
• Partner with designers and engineers on new workout interactions for living room use.

Location: San Jose, CA / Remote up to 3-4 days a week
Compensation: $35/hour, 20hr/week
Type: Part time 3 month contract
Reports to: Lead Game Designer

About this Role

Nex Playground brings motion-tracked fitness into the living room with BoxFlow and NexGym. As our Fitness Instructor, Digital Content, you'll create workouts parents love and grow into leading our fitness challenges, programs, and community.

You'll start in BoxFlow: given a song, you choreograph a boxing workout synced to the beat, then write and record its voiceover. This role suits a credible trainer or instructor who is building their name in the space and excited to grow with us.

First 90 Days

• Ship BoxFlow workouts end to end: beat-mapped punches plus recorded voiceover.
• Playtest and tune them with the team.
• Design and Pitch your first fitness challenge or program using our available tracking.

Responsibilities

• Choreograph BoxFlow workouts to music using Jabs, Crosses, Hooks, Slips, Squats, and Blocks, paced for beginner and intermediate players.
• Write and record voiceover scripts that cue combos, coach form, and motivate. Appear on camera as needed.
• Design and lead fitness challenges and programs across BoxFlow and NexGym that help parents get started and stay consistent.
• Engage our fitness community as a coaching voice and bring feedback back to the team.
• Partner with designers and engineers on new workout interactions for the living room.

Required Qualifications

• Group fitness teaching experience and Fitness certification (e.g. NASM, ACE, ACSM).
• Solid boxing fundamentals and a feel for combos that are fun and safe.
• Strong sense of rhythm: you hear a song and know where the punches go.
• Clear, energetic script writing and confident delivery on mic and camera.

Preferred Qualifications

• Boxing or kickboxing coaching experience.
• Experience creating fitness content for apps, streaming, or social media.
• An existing fitness community or social presence.
