Planet Fitness - TG3E/CM3 is seeking an on-site Fitness Trainer to guide new member orientations, lead small-group classes, and promote a welcoming, Judgement Free Zone environment. The role focuses on safe equipment use, general fitness instruction, and encouraging member participation.

The position includes supporting front desk duties and club events. The ideal candidate will be 18+, possess CPR/AED and tanning certifications, and have reliable, on-time attendance.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONThe Fitness Trainer is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for all members and providing guidance, instruction, and encouragement to help members achieve their fitness goals. This position leads small-group training sessions, conducts new member orientations, and supports the overall “Judgement Free Zone” experience by promoting a safe, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere.Member Support and TrainingConduct new member orientation sessions (“PE@PF” program), teaching safe and effective use of gym equipment.Design and lead small-group fitness classes that align with Planet Fitness standards and member needs.Provide general fitness instruction and encouragement—not one-on-one personal training.Offer tips and guidance to help members use equipment properly and confidently.Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that supports members of all fitness levels.Member EngagementBuild relationships with members to encourage regular participation and promote retention.Be visible and available on the club floor to assist members at all times.Promote a “Judgement Free Zone” and ensure all members feel welcome and supported.Safety & CleanlinessMaintain a clean, organized, and safe workout environment.Assist in extra duty cleaning during down times or as needed by club managementWipe down and disinfect equipment regularly.Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to management immediately.Assist with additional cleaning tasks as requested.Administrative & Team SupportTrack and record participation in fitness sessions.Support front desk operations as needed including:Assist in answering phones in a friendly and professional manner.Check members into the system and sign-up new members.Take prospective members on tours.Assist management with club events, member appreciation days, and other promotions.Required:Must be 18 years of age or older.Must be able to work onsite, this is not a remote positionNationally Certified Trainer (accredited certification such as ACE, NASM, ISSA, ACSM, or NSCA)Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.A passion for fitness and health!Upbeat and positive attitude.Punctuality and reliability is a mustObtain Tanning Certification within company required timeframes.Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve.Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and languageNationally Certified Training CertificateAll Fitness Trainers must submit to a background check consisting of a National Criminal Scan, National Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch List and County Criminal Search within the first week of hire. Continued employment will be based on satisfactory outcome of the background check.All Utah locations must participate in E-VerifyThis position requires employee to work on-site.Preferred:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Prior experience in a health club, gym, or fitness training environmentExperience leading small-group workouts or educational sessionsPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENTEnvironment: Indoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, cleaning chemicals and gym equipment.Physical: This role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking. Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movement and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required.
