Job summary

Vitruvian Health seeks a dedicated Fitness Center staff member to supervise the fitness area, engage daily with members, learn their names, and guide proper technique while supporting personalized fitness programs.

You will orient new members, assist with organized classes and aquatic activities, and maintain a clean, safe environment while reporting equipment issues to ensure a welcoming, effective experience for every guest.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and instruction of members utilizing fitness area.
  • Supervise and interact daily with members in a professional manner as they participate in their fitness routine.
  • Learn members names and use them
  • Circulate and engage with all members on exercise floor—seek to sign them up for assessment or SLED system as necessary.
  • Instruct members on the proper technique of utilizing the center’s equipment and facilities.
  • Assist members in implementing and updating their personal fitness programs.
• Orientation of new members and S.L.E.D. system workouts.
  • Orient new members to facilities, equipment, regulations and procedures as scheduled by appointment.
  • Review members assessment results, as needed, and discuss the members’ exercise prescription and basic fitness principles.
• Leadership of organized fitness classes.
  • Assist organized fitness classes as scheduled.
  • Assist in implementing of fitness programs for special populations.
  • Assist in implementing recreational fitness activities.
  • Assist in leadership of aquatic activities.
• Maintenance of a clean and safe work environment.
  • Keep fitness area picked up of stray towels, magazines, cups and various weight equipment (belts, wraps, dumbbells, etc).
  • On an hourly basis, clean exercise equipment and check for any “out-of-order” equipment--report malfunctions to maintenance, facility manager, or fitness coordinator.
  • Report all incidents and malfunctions within 24 hours to the on call person or management.
  • Complete all duties for opening and closing the facility as required by the appropriate checklist.
  • Complete and document duties for pool maintenance when scheduled.
  • Seek to complete cleaning priorities as described in the hour‑by‑hour checklist.
